The M23 forms the backbone of the motorway network ,entering London in the south west of the city.
Gatwick International airport is in easy reach by rail and road.
Sussex is well served by the Southern and South Eastern Train service with connecting services with First Connect networks. and Virgin trains. Trains arrive in London at Victoria and Waterloo.
Kent
Two good motorways take you to London and the M25. The M20 runs from Folkestone,entering London at the Blackwell Tunnel. The M2 runs through the Medway towns, Sittingbourne and Faversham crossing the eastern part of the country and entering London at the A2. The M20 and M26 join the M25 at Junctions 3 and 5 respectively.
Kent is well served by South Eastern Trains ,importantly for commuters South Eastern also runs the country's first Hi Speed rail link . Trains arrive in St Pancreas International and take 37 minutes from Ashford, 18 minutes from Ebsfleet and under 60 minutes from the coast. Weekly tickets with London Transport from Ashford is £99 and from the coast it is £145. Fully acceptable London commuting times.
Euro Tunnel/Channel Tunnel
Channel Tunnel service leaves from Folkestone and you can be in Calais in 35mins. Trains go to Paris, Lille and Brussels. Eurostar also go to these stations and the company are looking at extending the service to the business district of Paris ,La Defense ,Amsterdam and Rotterdam.
